BackgroundSDF-1 or stromal cell derived factor 1 is a member of the intercrine family which activate lymphocytes and have been used in the metastasis of some cancers such as breast cancer. SDF-1 is a chemokine receptor involved in a number of pathobiologic processes, including cell growth, survival, and adhesion, as well as tumor growth (1). SDF-1 plays a major role in the etiology of benign proliferative disease in an aging tissue microenvironment (2).
