BackgroundPlatelet-derived growth factor: PDGF is a mitogen growth factor that belongs to a family of mitogenic factor which function as regulators of blood vessel formation. PDGF binds to the tyrosine kinase PDGF receptor and activate downstream pathways regulating expression, the cell cycle and direct cell movement (1). PDGF plays a role in proliferation, migration and migration of mesenchyme cells (2).
